Wayne County Community Foundation Funds Honesdale Women’s Club Park Project

Recently, the Wayne County Community Foundation awarded a grant to the Honesdale Women’s Club for their “Central Park Beautification Project.”  Volunteers from the Club with the  assistance of  the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department replanted, mulched and restored the flowers and shrubs in Central Park in Honesdale.

Wayne County Community Foundation Present Grant to Waymart

The Wayne County Community Foundation recently presented a grant to the Waymart Boro Council to support the Waymart Police Department.  The grant will be used for the care and support of “Dallas” a certified drug detecting dog.

Community Foundation Awards Scholarship

Recently the Wayne County Community Foundation held its annual scholarship program.  One of the scholarships awarded was the Jeri Bigart Memorial Scholarship.  This year’s winner (shown) is Rebecca Fields, a graduate of Honesdale High School.  In the fall she will be attending Marywood University to major in Nursing.

Wayne County Community Foundation Awards Scudder Scholarships

Recently, the Wayne County Community Foundation presented ten $2,000 scholarships to area high school graduates who excelled scholastically and were very involved in their school’s extra-curricular activities:

Wayne County Community Foundation Awards Bethany Band Shell Grant.

Recently, the Wayne County Community Foundation presented a grant to Bethany Borough.  The Fund will be used in the repairing of the Band Shell located in the Bethany Park.  The band shell was built in 1935 and over many years has provided a venue for local concerts, movies, and children’s events.

Wayne County Community Foundation Awards Edwin Thomas Memorial Scholarships.

At the Wayne County Community Foundation Scholarship Program, held June 15, three $1000 scholarships were awarded from the Edwin Thomas Memorial Fund.  The recipients were Alyssa LaFave, Wallenpaupack HS, Kyle Thorp, Western Wayne HS and Emmas Firmstone, Honesdale High School.
